Cardiac Rehabilitation
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Maintenance Program is an ongoing program of exercise, nutrition, education and support, designed to help heart patients continue to be independent, self-assured, symptom-free, and able to maintain a normal activity level after they have "graduated" from the initial cardiac rehabilitation program completed at the hospital following their initial surgery or hospital stay.
This ongoing cardiac rehabilitation program is recommended for people who have experienced a recent heart attack, angina attacks, or open-heart surgery. Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation is customized to meet each patient's unique needs, and is planned by the physician, the cardiac rehabilitation specialist, and the patient.
