Bryn Mawr Hospital Health Center Simplifies Patient Registration with Self-Service Technology
Bryn Mawr, PA, August 29, 2007
The Bryn Mawr Hospital Health Center in Newtown Square now features the convenience and speed of self-service registration with eClipboards™, a wireless and portable touch-screen device that patients use onsite to enter medical information, sign consent forms, make co-payments, and view and confirm appointments.
"By using self-service technology to streamline and improve the patient check-in process patients can spend less time filling out traditional paperwork and more time with clinicians," said Ed Goss, Administrative Director, Bryn Mawr Hospital Health Center. "This translates into savings in waiting time and more satisfied patients."
According to Galvanon, makers of eClipboards, self-service registration technology has shown to reduce registration time by 75 percent. The technology also integrates patient information with other existing imaging and scheduling systems used at the Health Center and other Main Line Health facilities minimizing duplicate data entry for staff and the potential for errors throughout the continuum of care.
Bryn Mawr Hospital's outpatient services will be next to implement eClipboards followed by the outpatient services at Lankenau and Paoli Hospitals. By the summer of 2008, the outpatient services at all Main Line Health member facilities will be using the self-registration technology.
The new Bryn Mawr Hospital Health Center at 3855 West Chester Pike (Route 3) in Newtown Square, on the Ellis Preserve near the intersection of Route 252, opened in July and features the latest technology in imaging and laboratory services, a comprehensive cancer center, cardiac and physical rehab, cardiology and vascular diagnostics, diabetes management and nutrition counseling, and a sleep medicine center. Physician offices will open in September.
