New Bryn Mawr Hospital Health Center in Newtown Square Opens July 2nd

Bryn Mawr, PA, June 25, 2007

The new three-story 130,000 square foot Health Center, to open on Monday, July 2, will feature a cancer center equipped with the latest in technology, cardiac and physical rehab, imaging and laboratory services, cardiology and vascular diagnostics, diabetes management and nutrition counseling, a sleep medicine center and physician offices.

Bonnie Ciafre, of Landsdowne, was recognized for her 28 years with Main Line Health and for her personal connection with the Health Center's new home on the Ellis Preserve. Bonnie, a unit clerk on the short procedures unit at Bryn Mawr Hospital, graduated from the Charles E. Ellis School for Fatherless Girls in 1974. Upon his death in 1909, Charles E. Ellis, a prominent businessman and entrepreneur in the Philadelphia area, bequeathed the bulk of his estate, more than $3.5 million, toward fulfilling his dream of the formation of a school that provided free education for fatherless girls.

Today, Ellis' legacy continues through the Charles E. Ellis Grant and Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to girls from single parent families in need of help to complete their high school education, and the Ellis Preserve, a unique corporate campus in Newtown Square where the new Health Center is situated.
